Beauty and Style

I just turned 14 last month.

I have absolutely no sense of style. I’m kind of neutral about clothing. I wear jeans almost everyday, old running shoes that are kind of, well, grimy-looking, and usually band t-shirts.

The band t-shirts might look good and label me kind of emo or scene, but I don’t wear a lot of makeup either. But I’ve kind of decided enough is enough of my neutral style.

I don’t want to go from this look straight to another, but what are some clothes or makeup tips to help me transition kind of. gradually. from the geeky look I have now to someone remotely in style?

I don’t want to shop at Hollister, American Eagle, etc. the smell in there burns my nose and the clothes prices are ridiculous. just something kind of feminine I can add to my wardrobe? Makeup I should use?

Some tips would be appreciated Please and thanks, guys. Also, any websites that deal with this kind of thing would be great too. I don’t want to become someone I’m not, yet get out of this kind of gender-neutral clothing I’ve become so attached to.

To get a sense of the kind of girl I am, I love Led Zeppelin, Dream Theater, Metallica, Rush, The Who, Van Halen. yep.
I’m one of the geeks at school. this is the first year people have actually approached me and started talking with me (the popular people, I mean), and it was kind of uncomfortable. I want to change my style, but not my friends or social ranking I’m fine with being a dork, it suits me.
